Minimum Wage by StateAs of 2026-09-06

Published minimum wage increases

Every state step where an official source has actually published a date and a rate, in effective-date order. Nothing here is projected. A state that indexes to inflation but has not yet announced next year's figure appears with no step at all, which is most of them: the announcements land in late September and October. City rows come from the local ordinance file and were not re-sourced in this pass.[DOL WHD]

States (9)

42 of the 51 jurisdictions have no published next step, which is three different situations. 6 have run their statutory schedule out and carry no indexing clause, so nothing is coming without new legislation. 12 index annually but had not announced next year's figure by 2026-09-06; those announcements land between late September and mid October. For the remaining 24 this pass did not establish which of the two applies.

Cities (0)

The local-ordinance file previously carried a projected next step for every city on it. Those were consumer-price extrapolations rather than published rates and have been removed. US DOL publishes no local-ordinance table, so city steps have to be read one ordinance at a time and none has been re-sourced yet.
